About Us
Brenda and Mike Brown have been buying, selling and finding used books since 1990. Since the early 60’s, when we were both librarians, we have been working with books as the main part of our lives.
Located in the central belt of Scotland we have the privilege of working with the spectacular views of the Ochils and Campsie Fells and, a few miles to the north, the snow-capped Highlands.
There are over 25,000 books in stock covering every subject known to mankind. Our special interests are in gardening, herbs, ecology, construction, diy, donkeys, Miss Read, John S Goodall and Scotland. We also have a range of texts used by students. Our aim is to provide a personal service. Please ask for any advice, help or information you need; we reply by email as quickly as possible.
When we are working in our six acre garden and plant nursery we cant avoid being distracted by the fabulous views, which are often clearly lit by the sun.
We have had an internet based plant selling business for some time called www.herbscents.co.uk. We specialise in cottage garden plants, shrubs and herbs. Hardy plants that like our exposed hillside at an altitude of 700 feet (250 metres) just romp away when sent out to our customers.
